• BRIEF INTRODUCTION
This is a suit of piano music contenting six short pieces composed in 2003.

o I. Adagio in A-Flat Major Con duolo
This piano suit starts with a sorrowful piece. Describing the grief and indignation of a young man who was withdrawn by his beloved. This whole piece utilizes rich harmony to bring the sense of sadness.

o II. Allegro in C Major Conallegrezza
The young man then realized that the life is still beautiful. Despite the sorrow, spring comes after winter. This piece uses light and cheerful melody to produce the feeling of happiness.

o III. Largo in C Major Delizioso
Spring forest is always one of the most beautiful parts of nature. The young man decided to walk into the forest and appreciate the beauty of nature. The constantly changing between tonal and atonal produces the feeling of illusion and beauty.

o IV. Largo in A-Flat Major Cantando
After visiting the spring forest, the young man fell in love with the nature and realized the beauty of this world. This whole piece uses a lot of six-degree interval and graceful melody.

o V. Largo
This piece illustrates some boys playing in a forest at night. The music begins with the appearance of fireflies shine in the dark. Suddenly a strong wind blows and drives all the fireflies. Everything becomes so quiet after the wind. The boys then start their journey in the marvelous forest. They see different plants and animals. At the end they tried to escape from a huge unknown monster and after a while of struggling they fortunately get away from the monster and discover the fireflies again.

o VI. Largo
This piece is expressing an unknown illusory world. This imaginary world has a great variety.

I integrate my interest in computer programming and composing music by writing a program such that the program chooses all the notes to be use in each measure following certain rules.
o Randomly pick six notes from the twelve notes for each measure
o Two of the six chosen notes must repeat on the following measure
o I choose notes from the six chosen notes of each measure that I want to use to compose this suit of music.
o Source Code and Result are attached in the booklet.
o The recording of performance at Hsin Chu City Music Hall, 2003 is available on attached CD.
